老挝1980年版10阿特硬币（收于2018年）老挝人民民主共和国，简称老挝。位于中南半岛北部的内陆国家，实行社会主义制度。老挝人民革命党是老挝唯一政党；国土面积23.68万平方公里，人口680万（2015年），首都万象。
公元1353年建立澜沧王国；1893年沦为法国殖民地；1940年9月被日本占领。1945年10月12日宣布独立。1946年法国再次入侵；1954年美国取而代之。1962年成立联合政府。1975年，成立老挝人民民主共和国，600余年君主制终结。1997年7月加入东盟；1961年4月25日与中国建交。
老挝的货币叫老挝基普，是老挝自1952年起的法定流通货币，由老挝人民民主共和国银行发行。辅币单位阿特，1基普=100阿特。此10阿特硬币正面主图为国徽，国徽呈圆形，齿轮、拦河坝、森林、田野等分别象征工业、水力、林业；稻穗象征农业。背面主图为面额和收获粮食画面。Lao People's Democratic Republic, referred to as Laos. In 1975, the Lao People's Democratic Republic was founded, and the monarchy of more than 600 years ended. He joined ASEAN in July 1997 and established diplomatic relations with China on April 25, 1961.
